The first issue focuses on the transformations in Poles’ class self-identification, as identified in the “Game of Classes” report. The magazine features unique conversations with prominent figures in science, politics and culture, such as Aleksander Kwasniewski, Mateusz Morawiecki, Edwin Bendyk and Jacek Dukaj. The main thread is an analysis of how society’s changing needs and aspirations are redefining social classes. Experts discuss, among other things, the cultural distance between the Polish middle class and its counterparts in the West, the psychological aspects of class identification, and the impact of social transfers on the sense of social security. These discussions shed light on the challenges facing political elites and their ability to adapt to new realities.
